2010 EVENTS

50th ANNIVERSARY & INSTALLATION DINNER, June 17, 2010 - Rolling Green Country Club, Arlington Heights, IL
It was both a look back to humble beginnings and a look ahead to a vibrant future as the Northwest Suburban Bar Association installed its officers and Board of Governors on June 17, and also celebrated the association’s 50th anniversary.

ANNUAL MEETING & ROAST OF SAM AMIRANTE, May 12, 2010 - LaMirage, Rolling Meadows, IL
LaMirage Restaurant in Rolling Meadows was the venue for the Annual Meeting of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association and the Roast of Sam Amirante. The ad hoc stage at LaMirage took on the appearance and feel of the Improv, the professional comedy club in Schaumburg, Illinois. Amirante was roasted over his height, and (lack of) punctuality.

JUDGES' NIGHT, April 28, 2010 - Rosewood Banquets, Rosemont, IL
The NWSBA held its annual Judges’ Night event at the Rosewood Restaurant and Banquet Hall in Rosemont, IL.on April 28, 2010. A record turnout of attorneys and judges witnessed the Honorable Judge Grace G. Dickler and the Honorable Judge Vincent M. Gaughan -- veterans in domestic disputes and criminal court proceedings, respectively -- honored for their years of service at the event. Both Judge Dickler and Judge Gaughan received the Northwest Suburban Bar Association’s Public Service Award.

2010 HIGH SCHOOL MOCK TRIAL - Third District Courthouse, Rolling Meadows, IL
Less then three points separated the two top finishers in the recent Northwest Suburban Bar Association’s 2010 Mock Trial Invitational, with York Community High School ultimately coming out on top. Not only did the Elmhurst school’s Team No. 1 take first place, with 245.5 total points, it also produced the Invitational’s individual winners.
 

2009 EVENTS

2009 JUDGES' NIGHT - Rosewood Banquets, Rosemont, IL
Judges' Night is an annual event for members of the NWSBA and the Judiciary.  Each year a member of the Judiciary is presented with a Public Service Award recognizing their outstanding leadership and their contribution to the legal community.  In addition, the NWSBA Foundation awards scholarships to area law students to assist in their legal education.  The 2010 Judges' Night will be held on April 28th at the Rosewood restaurant in Rosemont, Illinois.

2009 INSTALLATION DINNER - Rolling Green Country Club, Arlington Heights, IL
This album highlights the installation of  President Scott Barber and the 2009/2010 Board of Governors.  The 2010 Installation Dinner, commemorating the Association's 50th Anniversary, will be held on June 17th at Rolling Green Country Club in Arlington Heights.

JOHN O'BRIEN RACETRACK EVENT - Arlington Park Racetrack, Arlington Heights, IL
Northwest Suburban Bar Association member John O’Brien was honored with a race named for him, “The Flyin’ O’Brien”, at an outing at Arlington Park on July 24, 2009. The afternoon at the track offered a chance for fellow attorneys and other colleagues to wish O’Brien well in his new role as president of the Illinois State Bar Association. The NWSBA co-hosted the event jointly with the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association, which O’Brien helped form more than a decade ago. O’Brien also is a longtime member of NWSBA, serving at one time on the Board of Governors.

2009 GOLF OUTING - Hillcrest Country Club, Long Grove, IL
Northwest Suburban Bar Association members and their guests enjoyed picture-perfect summer weather -- and the amenities of Hillcrest Country Club in Long Grove -- at the NWSBA’s annual golf outing August 6, 2009.

2009 HOLIDAY PARTY - LaMirage, Rolling Meadows, IL
Snow, freezing rain and icy streets made the weather somewhat frightful, but those who braved one of the season’s first snowstorms found the evening delightful. There was a warm welcome and hot music at the Northwest Suburban Bar Association’s 2009 Holiday Party, held Dec. 9 at LaMirage in Rolling Meadows.
